Ripping it up on NIKKARENA. I am NIKK and today we are checking out all NEW 2020 BMW S1000 RR | M - SPECIAL EDITION | REVIEW | WAY MORE THAN MEETS THE EYES. What's up guys to become a part of NIKKARENA here the BMW at the BMW MOTORRAD show and this is the Supersport bike that everyone was expecting but there were a lot of surprises this is 2020 BMW S1000 RR | M - SPECIAL EDITION.
Liter-class Superbikes are all about making a hair stand on end with the kind of blindingly quick acceleration the lightness agility and of course the razor-sharp handling and when BMW Motorrad entered this segment roughly ten years ago with the S 1000 RR which is its first proper Superbike the sole intent was to rule this segment and now almost ten years later we have a completely new S 1000 RR that looks angrier and meaner and of course gets cutting-edge technology like never before, of course, a motorcycle like this deserves to be ridden at a very special place which is why we are at the ester in circuit in Portugal to bring you this exclusive first ride review say hello to 2020 S 1000 RR.
I cannot start this review without talking about the design first now one of the major talking points about the S 1000 RR has always been its quirky asymmetrical headlamp design BMW told us that that was with the intention of saving some weight but now with lighter LED headlights a standard that thought has been chucked right out of the window and of course this face looks a lot more appealing a lot angrier I think it's a much better looking motorcycle overall and that's beside the fact that it is very compact almost like a 600 and more importantly it makes this bike look really dated interestingly the new S 1000 RR looks shorter despite a slightly longer wheelbase thanks to its shorter tail piece and compact body panels especially the narrow fuel tank the big update for 2020 though is the weight reduction program the new bike is over 10 kilograms lighter which is significant in terms of weight saving the new engine is four kalos lighter the wheels have lost about a kilo and half and even the brake discs a light about 500 grams the new chassis that BMW calls the Flex frame uses the engine as a stressed member even more integrally to optimize mass centralization further which makes for better handling.

The new S 1000 RR all uses an under brain swingarm now which pushes the rear tire harder onto tarmac when accelerating thereby increasing traction feedback and rider confidence and what we are riding today is the top-of-the-line M - packaged version now the M is an alphabet that has been only used by BMW for its performance cars till date but in the case of the S 1000 RR it replaces the old S before version so this bike gets a lot of goodies including carbon fiber beans light of battery additional riding modes and extra chassis adjustments while the standard version is 11 kilos lighter the M package equipped version is 14 and half kilograms lighter than the older bike it also gets additional riding modes to customize the bike to your individual riding style better while also letting you adjust the swingarm pivot points and I really don't need to tell you how stunning the livery on the M package version looks wearing the blue red and white BMW Motorsport livery now BMW Motorrad famously upped the stakes in the leader class segment with the first-generation S 1000 RR as it put out a hundred and ninety PS at the crank while most of the bikes in the segment were putting just over 160 PS and now for 2020 this S 1000 RR gets a completely new engine that puts out 207 PS, of course, the bigger highlight here is that the engine is lighter it revs quicker and get some serious technology like variable valve timing which BMW calls the shift cam.

The new engine uses a crank that's lighter for 1.7 kilos and helps the engine rev quicker and harder ship cam helps the engine off for a stronger mid-range punch by opening the inlet valves partially before changing clothes at 9,000 RPM over the walls fully thereby offering stronger glass throughout the residence in fact the new S 1000 RR mid-range punches as strong as that of the current S 1000 R naked and BMW also tells us the new bike offers at least a hundred Newton meter (100NM) starting from 5500 rpm all the way to the red line and as a founder on track this means that while ignoring themes in performance is still stuff right at the top of the rev range the mid-range punch is stronger which results not just in quicker in-gear acceleration but higher corner exit speeds as well and of course every time.
I open the throttle wide mainline 4-cylinder led out its typical wheel that's extremely pleasing to the years as was the case with the original the new generation S 1000 RR comes with one of the most advanced electronic suite that we have seen on a leader class motorcycle yet and M package version here it gets an extra set of goodies over the standard version the S 1000 RR gets rain road dynamic and track as the standard but the M package brings with the three additional riding modes these are race pro one two and three and allow you to customize pretty much everything there is in terms of rider it's you the script configurable engine maps varying levels of traction control abs really controlled slide control and mesh promotes also include launch control a pit lane speed limiter and Hill Start Assist six-axis I am you work full time to ensure wheelie controls precise and depending on what you like you can either have the front wheel come up at every corner exit area most never so,

The new S 1000 RR is virtually idiot proof and the electronics do all the hard work helping you go faster and also making you look like a pro many functions are accessed via the crisp looking 6.5 inch TFT display and in case you were wondering a bi-directional quick shifter is now standard but the new S 1000 RR BMW motorad has also moved to semi active electronic suspension from Marzuki which is an upgrade over the old standard upside-down folks and motor shock from Sachs that the older bike was equipped with the new suspension offers improved control and stability lesser time under braking means you have more confidence when braking from high speeds and I was touching nearly to 80 kmph down the Main Street at the external circuit but braking from those people never an issue thanks to the bike stability confidence around corners is excellent too as a suspension and the new chassis work together better to let you turn the bike in really quick lean it in and open the throttle quickly the previous S 1000 RR was a lot of hard work on racetracks and while the new bike is less demanding it's still a lot of hard work though that hard work pays off by way of some serious lap times another big change for 2019 is the switch to a new braking system from hayes which replaces the old Brembo calipers I would have liked some more initial bite but today after it the new brakes offer a very progressive feel which is sure to be liked by new riders it's been a hard day at work for me we're literally put in a lot of fast laps on the new S 1000 RR at Estoril in Portugal this bike is definitely a massive upgrade over the older bike terms of the performance the handling the confidence it offers everything we expected to come to India sometime later in 2020 and when it comes it will come under premium but I think that premium is certainly going to be worth what this motorcycle brings to the table.
