What's up, guys? NIKK here on NIKKARENA. And the OnePlus 7 is finally in the house. This is the regular OnePlus 7. It seems like all of the attention has been on the OnePlus 7 Pro but we now have the seven in house. Let's get it unboxed and compare it to the OnePlus 7 Pro. Now initially having a look at the boxes they're similar we just have the seven logos the pro, of course, has the pro and the box of the pro is slightly larger compared to the regular seven. Right now inside the box, there is the device. And there's a big difference right away with the contents that you get inside the box. And that is this charger. You get a regular fast charger on the OnePlus 7. On the OnePlus 7 Pro which I have here earlier is a 30-watt warp charger. So charging the OnePlus 7 Pro with be faster compared to charging the OnePlus 7.

Now I don't know what's going to happen if I try charging the regular OnePlus 7 with the 30-watt warp charger. I'm assuming it's still going to charge it at regular speed but I really don't want to risk it because that's the only one I've got. Now apart from the difference with the charger everything else you get is pretty much exactly the same as what you'd get on the OnePlus 7 Pro. So there is a USB type A to USB type C red cable. There's a clear case obviously these ones for the OnePlus 7. There's a SIM card ejector tool. There's a little invitation letter from OnePlus, some stickers as well as some paperwork. So, pretty basic stuff. Now let's get to the device and let's compare it to the OnePlus 7 Pro. So, we can get rid of the plastic, of course, the sticker. And here it is the OnePlus 7 in mirror gray. I do quite like this reflective color. It looks really nice. And up front here is the display but of course, I know what you guys want to see. Let's bring in the OnePlus 7 Pro and we'll do a head to head NIKKARENA style comparison.

So, here is the OnePlus 7 Pro versus the OnePlus 7. You'll see initially that the back design is quite similar. We've got cut glass panels on both of the these. No, because we got the nebula blue color of the OnePlus 7 Pro it does have more of a matte finish compared to the glossy finish of the mirror gray. The OnePlus 7 Pro is also available in the exact same mirror gray version if that's what you prefer. And then there's also an almond color which is going to be a limited additional color coming in a limited run. With the OnePlus 7, you've got this mirror gray which is the main color but then you are going to have the red color which is going to be available just in China and India. Now neither of these are certified water and dust resistance although OnePlus have said that they should be absolutely fine for regular use and a splash but you shouldn't go for a swim with these. They don't go with an IP rating because that costs more money and it drives up the prices of the devices. Let me know what you think about that.

Now for the size, the OnePlus 7 Pro is larger compared to the OnePlus 7 in all aspects and it also weighs quite a bit more. It's definitely units one of the largest devices out there. That is due to the display. So if we turn these around you'll notice that the OnePlus 7 Pro does have a larger display and we've got some big differences when it comes to the displays. The first thing is that the OnePlus 7 Pro does have curved glass for the front whereas we've got flat glass on the OnePlus 7. Now, this is going to come down to your personal preference. I personally really do like the look of curved displays but when it comes to practicality flat displays are definitely better. But that aside the OnePlus 7 Pro has a better display all around. Firstly it is larger and you can see that we've got a better screen to body ratio. And that's because we have a notch on the OnePlus 7. The OnePlus 7 Pro gets rid of the notch by using a pop-up camera. Now durability of this has been tested quite a bit by OnePlus. How well it fairs over time is something that we're going to have to wait and see for. Both displays have AMOLED technology and I got to say bot look very, very good. Color is vibrant, blacks are deep and the details are sharp. However, we've got a fluid AMOLED display on the OnePlus 7 Pro whereas the OnePlus 7 has an optic AMOLED display. What does that mean? Well, that means that we've got a 90 Hz refresh rate on the OnePlus 7 Pro and that makes it a lot more fluid. Now it's going to be impossible to actually show it here in this video but when you are using on a day to day basis you really do notice that additional refresh rate and it does make things a lot smoother. In addition to that, we do have a quad HD plus resolution on the OnePlus 7 Pro versus a full HD plus resolution on the OnePlus 7 and that does make things a tad sharper on the OnePlus 7 Pro. You do have a higher PPI so display department clear win here is for the OnePlus 7 Pro and this the biggest difference that I think you're going to find between the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Internally both devices are very, very similar. They are both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 set. You do get an option of more RAM on the OnePlus 7 Pro up to 12 GB whereas you only get six or eight GB on the OnePlus 7. Storage is the same. We've got either a 128 GB or 256 GB option. And both devices also have UFS 3.0 storage which makes them very, very fast. Now in terms of the speed of performance, these are going to be some of the fastest devices out there especially thanks to UFS 3.0. I don't really think the 12 GB of RAM is going to make a massive, massive difference to most people unless you're somebody who's a very, very heavy gamer. Now one thing that's going to be quite interesting to see is how much the extra resolution affects the speed of the OnePlus 7 Pro compared to the OnePlus 7. You're are pushing out more pixels so that might have a bit of an impact on performance. I don't think it's going to be much at all though. For software again both are identical we've got Android Pi with Oxygen Os on both. I really like Oxygen OS it's very smooth and clean and we do have some new features at this time such as a screen recorder which is much awaited as well as a zen mode which completely disables your phone for 20 minutes to take you away from things. Digital wellbeing is obviously very important these days. Now I personally can't see myself using it. Now let's talk about the cameras so the front-facing cameras are identical. We've got the same Sony sensor. They're both 16 megapixels with an f/2.0 aperture. The only difference is that you have a pop up for the OnePlus 7 Pro whereas you have a notch for the OnePlus 7. So, in terms of photo quality from the front-facing cameras, there really shouldn't be much of a difference at all. They're both also using the same software processing but the rear-facing cameras are where we've got some bigger differences.
You'll notice that the OnePlus 7 Pro has a triple camera set up whereas we've got a dual camera set up on the OnePlus 7. Now the primary camera is very similar. We have the same sensor. It's 48 megapixels. However, we do have a slight difference in aperture. We've got an f/1.6 aperture on the OnePlus 7 Pro. We've got an f/1.7 aperture on the OnePlus 7. How much of a difference that's going to make I'll do a few tests. I'm not going to do a detailed camera comparison because these are so, so similar but I will go ahead and do some tests and share them on my Twitter and Instagram so make sure you are following me on there. The OnePlus 7 Pro does have an ultra wide camera which is going to let you get so much more into your shots as well as a telephoto camera which is going to give you three times optical zoom. The OnePlus 7 the secondary camera is only a five-megapixel camera which is going to help with depth information. So, this isn't really a dedicated camera as such. It's only going to work alongside the other when you're taking portraits and things. Is that going to make the OnePlus 7 Pro better for portraits? That's something else that I will look into but the additional dedicated cameras on the OnePlus 7 Pro with their different angles of views will give you quite a bit of an advanced age over the OnePlus 7. And that is another big difference that you've got here between the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. If you want to see how the one plus 7 Pro camera stacks up against the competition I have done a detailed camera comparison between the OnePlus 7 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus NIKKARENA style.

That blog is going to be linked in the cards and in the description below. Moving on, both devices have an optical in-display fingerprint sensor and as far as I can tell it's exactly the same on both. It's very very fast and accurate. Let's just try that again. Yep. Both this time also have stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. We've got one here in the earpiece and one bottom firing. They both sound good and I'm glad that OnePlus finally has stereo speakers on their devices. Unfortunately, neither of these have a 3.5 mm jack. Moving on to the batteries we do have a slightly larger battery on the OnePlus 7 Pro. 4000 mAhs versus 3700 on the OnePlus 7. Now in my usage of the OnePlus 7 Pro, the battery life has been okay, not amazing and I think that is down to that 90 Hz refresh rate. You're also pushing out more pixels so I'd expect the OnePlus 7 to have better battery life compared to the OnePlus 7 Pr. I'm going to have to use this more to have something definitive. But as mentioned earlier on in the video the OnePlus 7 Pro does get the advantage when it comes to charging speed because you do have that warp 30-watt charger. Neither of these, unfortunately, have wireless charging. This is something that OnePlus still doesn't include. I personally do value wireless charging a lot and I've definitely been missing wireless charging while using the OnePlus 7 Pro over the past few days. Finally the price. You are going to be paying around 150 pounds (13,300 RS) more for the OnePlus 7 Pro versus the OnePlus 7. And for that additional price, I think you're getting three main things. Firstly that beautiful 90 Hz quad HD plus display which is a lot better compared to the OnePlus 7 although the OnePlus 7 display isn't bad. You're getting that triple rear-facing camera set up with the addition of a telephoto camera as well as an ultra-wide which I do like. And the third main thing I think that you're getting is warp charge 30. So that's faster charging on the OnePlus 7 Pro compared to the OnePlus 7. Are those three main differences worth the extra price tag? In my opinion, they are. I would definitely pay 150 pounds (13,300 RS) extra for those features but it depends how important are those features to you. Now some important things to know about OnePlus 7. It's actually not going to be available in the USA. I was a little bit surprised to hear about this but it looks like OnePlus are definitely concentrating on the OnePlus 7 Pro as their flagship device. And I think most people in the US do buy devices on carriers on contracts so they're not too bothered about the standalone price. The difference between these two would only be very minimal when you look at the monthly plan. However, in Europe and Asia, a lot of people do buy their devices ff line and also think OnePlus wanted to offer something for that 500-pound (45,000 RS) price point because that's what they have a reputation for and they've been known for. The pricing of the OnePlus 7 Pro did anger a lot of OnePlus fans who are generally used to paying a lot less for a flagship device. And I think for those people who don't want to pay the extra I think that's one of the reasons why OnePlus have still got the OnePlus 7 instead of just the OnePlus 7 Pro. That's what I think anyway. What do you guys think? Do you guys think the extra 150 pounds (13,300 RS) is worth going for the OnePlus 7 Pro? Definitely let me know in the comments below.
